This site lets you donate without ever sharing your identity. This page describes exactly what is collected if you nonetheless choose to identify yourself.
What we collect
Donating requires no personal data. Three visibility levels are offered at donation time:
- Anonymous — no identifying data is stored. This is the default option.
- Pseudonym — only the pseudonym you choose is kept and shown on the public ledger.
- Public — your name is kept and shown on the public ledger, because you explicitly asked for it.
The email address is optional in all cases. It is used only to send you your donation receipt. It is never published, never shared with a third party, and never used for any solicitation.
Legal basis
- Your consent for displaying your name or pseudonym on the public ledger, and for the email address. You choose, donation by donation.
- Legal obligation and legitimate interest for keeping the accounting records of a received donation: amount, date, blockchain transaction.
Retention periods
- Donation never paid: deleted after 30 days. Since nothing was received, there is no reason to keep anything.
- Donation received: identifying data is erased after 6 years. The accounting record is kept, but as “Anonymous”.
What we do not do
- No advertising tracker, no third-party analytics tool.
- No font or script loaded from a third-party server: everything is hosted with the site, your IP address goes nowhere else.
- No resale or sharing of data. No profiling.
The only cookie set remembers your language choice. It cannot identify you.
What is public, and irreversibly so
A blockchain transaction is public and permanent: it cannot be erased by anyone, neither by us nor by you. Our transparency ledger publishes the identifier of each received transaction. If you chose to appear under your name, this link between your name and that transaction becomes public.
If this exposure worries you, choose the anonymous option, and prefer Monero, whose transactions are not publicly traceable.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to and port your data. To exercise them, write to us with your donation reference (in the format DON-YYYYMMDD-XXXX).
On an erasure request, all identifying data is removed, including from the public ledger, and your tracking link is revoked. The amount and the transaction are kept anonymously: they are accounting records, and the transaction remains public on the blockchain anyway.
You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).
